Ok, you’ve
talked us into it. Promethius Consulting has decided to pick
up your used electronics, including computers, monitors, peripheral
devices (such as printers, scanners, etc.) and donate them to
VirtualMatch Corp (VMC). We are scheduling pickups for the week
of May 24, 2004*.

By now you’ve
probably heard the good news that German authorities have a
suspect in custody who has confessed to creating and disseminating
the “Sasser” worm. Please keep in mind, however,
that we are not out of the woods yet. Someone will most assuredly
copy the Sasser source code and modify it to make it an even
more vicious worm. Experts are also warning that we are likely
headed for a new generation of worms that can constantly mutate.
This will put an end to these glory days of viruses only costing
a few billion dollars. We now have the luxury of brief respites
between virus attacks, but that will soon be a thing of the
past.
Protect
yourself NOW. At a minimum, for your home and office, you need:
1. Updated
antivirus software
2. All Windows Updates installed
3. A firewall (Windows XP has a built-in firewall that stops
most worms)
